As a part of reviving the culture of COW CARE in Human society, we, ISKCON-Mangalore, are trying to establish a complete and wonderful environment for the cows thereby creating a homely atmosphere for the cows.

This Goshala has been successful in continuing and expanding its shelter to more than 100 cows. The Goshala was started under the thatched roof with only 10 cows in the beginning with minimum facilities. Due to the sincere endeavors made by the dedicated devotees to please Lord Krishna, now there is fully equipped gaushala In our premises to take care of different variety breeds of Bulls, Cows and Calves. We have all the facilities for over all facilitation for all categories of cows. One of the unique Specialties with our Gaushala is that we are raising natural breeds of Cows that are descending from the same heritage of original cows that are mentioned in SrimadBhagavatam and other scriptures. The natural breeds which we have are Punganoor breed, Geer breed, Ongole breed, Tarparka breed etc..,The Goshala provides loving shelter and care to all cows at all times throughout their lives.

However, its a big challenge to maintain so many Cows since only a small number of Cows give milk. Over and above maintenance, there is a great need for high pasteurizing land for cows to graze, dry grass, green grass, different powdered cereals, wheat husk, grains husk, etc., to keep the Cow in highly nourished condition. These Cows are never sold to any slaughterhouses or abandoned even when they become old. They are maintained carefully till the end of their lives.

In this Goshala, we are trying to serve the Cows to the best of our capacity as much as possible. In this way, May Lord Govinda, the lover of Cows, be pleased with our small endeavors and shower His causeless mercy upon us. Only by His mercy, the society can move forward in the direction of Peace and Harmony in the world. Our humble attempts can be more effective if each and every person feels responsibility and the right of preserving the Cows from all ill ways.
